Toe Dynamometer

The toe dynamometer is the best resource to establish weaknesses of the big toe and four smaller toes. It also helps to establish snd correlate symptoms and injury on one side that is significantly weaker than the other side. Having an objective measurements allows for reassessment that not only encourages a patient, but allows you to calculate progress increases in strength.

This is a fabulous little tool to help assess toe strength. It’s a great way to give my patients concrete evidence of their progress.

Finally an actual useful tool for measuring strength. I get so damn mad when some of my clinicians will discharge a patient out of a walking boot that they’ve been in for 4 to 6 weeks and immediately tell them to resume sports activity. It took a bit of work and education on my part, but now I have both the clinicians and the patients understanding that they must achieve the respective 10% and 7% of bodyweight strength in their FHL and FDB before returning to higher level sports activities.

I love this thing. It's so rewarding to be able to quantify toe strength and show clients why working on their feet and toes is so important to the rest of their body function. Very useful in assessing progress in toe strengthening programs! I use it for myself and my clients. It has been a revealing tool to see how neglected toe strength is in daily life and activities. Great for data-driven, analytical people who want to see progress by the numbers; it has convinced some of my clients to finally work on toe/lower extremity strength because they were able to see where they were missing strength.
